Please Get Rid Of Him

Can we please get rid of this guy already? Now, Boozer is spouting off to the Miami Herald stating that he'd love to play for the Heat. Does a contract mean anything these days? Isn't he STILL contracted with the Jazz? And didn't he OPT-IN to stay with the Jazz? I'm so sick of this guy. Seriously, shut-up!... until a trade actually happens. Apparently, this must be Boozer's (and his agent's) attempt to get dealt. He knows that he won't get an extension from the Jazz at next season's end. So... he'll just about do "anything" he desires to get himself traded. I don't want this guy on the team. He's a distraction. He's a lame duck. He's a money-grubber. We won't win a championship with Boozer on the team (we're not good enough) and we won't win a championship without Boozer on the team... so... let's trade him already! I don't care what value we get in return. Truthfully I doubt anyone will trade quality talent for this guy. No one really wants him. Let's do the Chicago or Miami trade right away. Get back some players that actually want to be here (along with future assets)... and be done with it. Please KOC & Mr. Greg Miller, Get rid of this guy!

I could not agree more with the comment that this guy is not behaving in a manner conducive with the fact that i) he is still under contract, and ii) he just OPTED-IN to be a member of the Jazz 2 weeks ago.

My prediction though? I bet the Jazz hold his feet to the fire and make him play here next year. He HAS to have a good year, or he is hurting himself.

And finally, if I were an NBA GM, I wouldnt touch Boozer with a ten foot pole.

I love it how he told a Chicago radio station last week that he wanted to play for the Bulls and a Miami newspaper this week that he wanted to play for the Heat. Does he not understand how the national media market works these days? Everyone hears everything across the country immediately.

The problem with keeping on the team for the year is that he's a cancer in the locker room and a total distraction. I'm with the Guru: let's move him, and move him quickly.

The problem with that, Pasty Gangsta, is that we then get Udonis Haslem in return, and Boozer marches off to Miama and has a stellar year while we struggle to win 40 games.

I think the Jazz will hold Boozer for the summer, start the season with him with the understanding that if he preforms, he'll be dealt, and then deal him before the February deadline.

That way we don't have to engage in a Udonis Haslem firesale.

Come on Guru, how do you really feel? Good post. I think the Jazz are smart to wait. Wade and Riley seem pretty enamoured with the idea of getting Odom and Boozer, and if we wait long enough I think there is an outside chance we might be able to get Beasley. In any case, I don't think the offers are going to get worse if we hold our cards for a while.

Beasley? Really?

I haven't heard Beasley's name mentioned in any of this . . .

I guess that I'm of the opinion that the Jazz won't win a championship with the team as constituted, and we won't be able to improve enough by trading Boozer to win a championship either. So, to me it doesn't matter if we win 50 games next season and place 5th overall in the West (with Boozer) or if we win 40 games next year and just miss the playoffs (without Boozer). He isn't part of our future either way. We have to shed salary. Deron, Memo, Millsap and Brewer appear to be the pieces we're building upon. And we are perfectly situated to re-build on the fly (with the Knicks pick). Infact, it might be MORE beneficial for our future to miss the playoffs next season so we'll have an additional lottery pick to add. So, in the grand scheme of things, Boozer is worthless to us.
